The government has sent our sons and daughters in harms way. Regardless of whether we should be conducting warfare in Afghanistan, Iraq and unknown locations, when our government calls, our soldiers go out and kick ass. All they ask in return is that they are given every protection available by the same leaders that send them.
The Department of Defense is funded to provide guns, ammo and technology that either keeps the enemy at a safe distance or gets our guys out of harms way immediately when its time to go. So long as any one of our troops are getting injured or killed, there is no limit to how much of our treasury should be allocated to keeping them safe. If we canīt afford to finance overseas adventures we should bring them home. If itīs imperative that we deploy, money should be no object.
The Dirtbag Four: Kerry, Snowe, Landrieu and Inouye led the way to pack the DoD budget with $2.6 Billion of earmarks for 778 pork projects. That is $2.6 billion that will be on spent on museums, ego centers and all manners of other shit that in no way keeps our military personnel safe.
Every time a soldier falls on foreign soil we need to ask: would they have been saved with the more intel, munitions, transport, communication and support that the $2.6 billion would have afforded? And for those that do fall, are the families they leave behind sufficiently provided for, or would they be better served with a bit more cash in hand than with an Edward Kennedy Education Institute?

So today we learn that a bunch of the money allocated for our soldiers is being spent on museums, ego institutes and a bunch of other shit that in no way prevents our guys from getting killed.
"Senators diverted $2.6 billion in funds in a defense spending bill to pet projects largely at the expense of accounts that pay for fuel, ammunition and training for U.S. troops, including those fighting wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, according to an analysis.
Among the 778 such projects, known as earmarks, packed into the bill: $25 million for a new World War II museum at the University of New Orleans and $20 million to launch an educational institute named after the late Sen. Edward M. Kennedy, Massachusetts Democrat." - Washington Post
Let me be clear on this. When the government decides to send soldiers someplace to break stuff and kill people, they need to also do EVERYTHING in their power to make it as safe as possible. That means that if there is an extra dollar sitting around with nothing to do, you spend it on making the mission just that much safer. Diverting funds that could buy another helicopter (faster rescue response) or one more artillery shell (less enemies to shoot back at you) for a fucking Kennedy memorial makes me want to vomit. Blood is on the hands of the representatives that approved this shit.

I donīt understand any of this health care mumbo-jumbo, but for the purposes of this post letīs pretend I do. Itīs less smarter to spend $829 billion that you donīt have, than it is to not spend $829 billion.

I hate to point out the obvious, but there isnīt a health care plan or insurance scheme in existence that will ever save a single life. Never ever. Extend a life? Temporarily, yes. But not one life will be saved. If needed, I can explain this in greater detail for those readers located in Socialist countries like California.
Dirtbag Exclusive: An inside source has told the Dirtbag that Democrats secured Olympia Snoweīs vote by including a proviso for her to receive $112 million worth of free cosmetic surgery under the plan (estimated to be about half the total amount she needs to not scare small children), and to refrain from pointing and giggling at her every time the word "hideous bent hag" is mentioned in session.
